How IPL Skin Resurfacing Works
IPL skin resurfacing uses high-intensity pulses of specific light frequencies to to repair damaged skin cells. This “photo rejuvenation” technique stimulates the production of new skin cells and collagen, resulting in younger, “plumper”, healthier looking skin. A handheld device is used to send energy deep into the skin, where it is selectively absorbed by certain cells.
The Cynosure ICON 1540 is a “Fractional Laser” that splits up light energy into hundreds of precise micro-beams that penetrate the skin’s lower layers to stimulate the body’s natural healing response – causing new, healthy tissue to form. This results in smoother, younger-looking skin with improved texture and tone.

The effects of microneedling are further enhanced by combining the treatments with PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma).
Platelets contain the body’s natural healing factors. We extract the PRP from the patient’s own blood and concentrate it using a centrifuge. We then apply the PRP during the microneedling process – where it penetrates deep into the dermis and stimulates the body’s natural healing abilities and collagen production.
PRP has been used in sports medicine for over a decade to naturally regenerate injured joints. It is also gaining popularity as a highly effective, non-surgical method of regrowing hair.
