How IPL Laser Acne Treatments Work
Icon IPL Laser Acne Treatments can help you or your teenager obtain a smooth, clear complexion without the use of dangerous medications or harsh topical chemicals and creams.
Acne occurs when the “sebum” (the oily secretion of the sebaceous glands) is prevented from leaving the skin when a hair follicle becomes blocked. When this happens, bacteria grows beneath the surface of the skin, which is what causes the inflammation and ugly pimples. And when the inflamed pimple finally gets too full and ruptures, it can lead to ugly, permanent scarring.
Icon IPL Laser Acne Treatments work by cutting off the blood supply to the sebaceous gland, thereby slowing the production of sebum. The IPL thermal energy attacks the pigment in the blood vessels that feed the oil production. When the hemoglobin converts the light energy into heat, it damages the walls of the vessels supplying blood to the sebaceous glands – without damaging surrounding skin.
